1.Worship MaaDurga daily, light lamps, offer flowers, and perform aarti to seek blessings.
2.Those who can, should observe fasts for the period of nine days. Fasting is an integral part of Navratri and it is done to please the Goddess and seek her blessings.
3.On the eighth day of Navratri i.e. Ashtami, Kanya puja (feeding little girls) is done. Usually, nine girls are invited, their feet are washed and delicacies are fed to them.
4.Shringar or adornment of Goddess is very significant and is also seen as a mark of respect towards MaaDurga. Decorate her with flowers, garlands, clothes and bangles, etc.

3.Do not trim your nails or get a haircut during this period.
4.Avoid wearing old and discarded clothes and try not to wear black coloured clothes.
